We hit the hospital at 6 a.m. (And by the way, God bless my friend Ann, who not only watched the kids yesterday but today - arriving at 5:30 a.m. with pancake mix and syrup to make the kids breakfast. And she supervised them doing school. And she did art with them. I love her.) Caleb did well, opting for them to put him to sleep with the mask before putting the IV in. The wheeled him off about 7:20 and about 7:35, the nurse was coming to find us. I barely had time to scarf down the croissant Mark bought me. The doctor met with us and he reset Caleb's wrist without needing to pin it. He said since the ends of the bones were sticky it would be really unlikely it would pop out of place. The doctor was out of the hospital at 7:50 a.m. and a few minutes later we were taken back to see Caleb, groggy but awake. The nurse who watched over him was excellent and instead of schlepping him off to the room he began in, she kept him in recovery to hasten his discharge time. We left about 8:45 a.m.
He's home, doing well, and planning a strategy for a wii game he wants to play. So while he had today off from school, my theory is if he's well enough to play wii, he's well enough to do math. And so tomorrow, it's his nose to the grindstone.
Thanks for the prayers.
Wow! Easy in, easy out!
